 Sponsoring Locksbottom CC in 2012

The 2011 cricket season saw the first steps toward a more proactive approach in generating income for the club, for which Gordon Snashall should be thanked for the efforts he put into getting this up and running.

As has been highlighted by Gordon and the club's committee over the past few years, the club is not exempt from the harsh realities of the current economic climate.  This is reflected in the renegotiation of the club's lease agreement with Bromley Council.

Sponsoring LBCC in 2012

Therefore in 2012 we need to step up a gear, and that process begins right now!

Firstly, we will look to continue the initiatives started last year.  Please consider the “Club Sponsorship Opportunities” (click here) for yourself.  Also consider whether or not the company you work for or anyone else you know may be interested in supporting the club and cricket in our local area.  This is likely to be the most accessible source for additional income during 2012.

Secondly, we will look to gain corporate sponsorship for one or more of the projects which the committee intend to progress during 2012.  There is significant effort involved in obtaining corporate sponsorship and this is far more difficult to achieve.  However, if we correctly identify projects for which corporate sponsorship might be obtained, then we have a real chance of being successful.

Thirdly, we will consider grant opportunities that are open to the club.  Again, there is significant work involved in getting grant applications completed in sufficient detail to even be accepted for consideration for receipt of a grant.  Similar to corporate sponsorship, this will be dependent upon identifying appropriate projects for which grants will be approved.

We are already seeing that the cost of playing cricket is increasing and that the club will need to be able to become more financially self-sufficient over the next few years.  Therefore we, as a club, need to ensure that we have sufficient avenues of income in place before we get into a situation of having to charge, for example, £200 Annual Subscriptions and £20 Match Fees.

So please consider ways in which you can help the club generate the additional income which will ensure the continued success of Locksbottom Cricket Club in the years to come.
