Match report Well this was an eventful day! At 9.30am the team was down to 8 players and after a few phone calls and the 1st XI being called off I got 11 men, well so I thought, after turning up at the ground we had 12 men! So after a dropping myself it was the return of the ex-team Captain Russ Snashall, so we had the current and ex club Captains playing, how could we fail? Before the game started we had a minutes silence for Fred Taylor, boy would he of loved watching the following!
Well not the best of starts after losing the toss we were put into bat we found ourselves 1 for 3 then 41 for 6! Some good bowling and some poor shot selections were to blame. Russ and Graham Smart steaded the ship putting on 30 odd then when Russ was caught on 20 in came the in form Jimmy Kimber who hit some lusty blows and with Graham rolling back the years with some lovely shots the score was becoming rather respectable, Jimmy hit 55 before being bowled and after a couple more wickets we was 135 for 9 at tea.
Not alot to report on the bowling of LBCC as Blindley Heath reached the target of 135 with a massive six to finish on 141 for 0.
