Successful league season over, plenty of cricket still to be played

With the 2023 league season coming to a close on Saturday, its time for another quick update. The 1st XI secured promotion back to Div 2 with a strong victory against Shipbourne in Mark Lambourne’s final game as skipper after an incredible 15 year stint. The 2nd XI finished 7th in the league to cement their place in Div 4 after a tricky season, while the 3rd XI narrowly missed out on promotion after finishing 3rd in Div 7. Huge well done and thanks to Chris Trevatt, Stuart Greenwood and everyone who has contributed to all the league sides in what has been another successful league season for LBCC!

There is still plenty of cricket to be played in September though, so please continue to make yourselves available for the friendly fixtures. There have been some cracking friendly matches recently, including in our successful cricket week – and September’s always a great time to find some form…

Finally, a couple of important dates for your diary – more details to come soon.

Our Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday 25th October 2023 both at Tugmutton and on Zoom, 7.45pm for 8pm.

Our end of season dinner will take place on Saturday 25th November 2023 at High Elms again.
